Nice house in Aalten, Netherlands (East)
In 2006, we, Wim (1942) and Judith (1953) moved from Amsterdam to Aalten. We live in a small, old farmhouse. In 2006 the house was totally renovated, so the outside still looks like before and the inside is modern and practical. The farm was built in 1909 outside the village, but nowadays it is surrounded by many houses.-

Our Neighbourhood
In our environment, the most beautiful part of the Netherlands!, there are many hiking paths and a great number of cycle paths.
In the Netherlands many interesting cities are not far away: Arnhem (55 km),
‘s Hertogenbosch (110 km), Utrecht (115 km) and Amsterdam (150 km).
The largest National Park “De Hoge Veluwe” is 60 km. Inside the park you’ll find the famous Kröller Müller Museum, partly in the open air.
20 km to the north east of Aalten you will find the natural area Zwillbrock with, in the summer, a large colony of flamingoes.
From Aalten it is only 3 km to the border with Germany. Many interesting cities can be visited over there:
Duisburg (70 km), Münster (70 km), Essen (95 km), Düsseldorf (90 km).
The famous sculpture garden Insel Hombroich (near Neuss, 100 km) is also a highlight.
We have a lot of information about cities, natural areas and many other interesting things. And we also have a list of websites for more information. You will find it when you arrive over here.

About Our Family
We both were math teachers in secondary school in Amsterdam. Now, Wim we are retired. We both have studyed at a part time art school, which takes 5 years.
We also both make music. Judith plays alto saxophone an Wim plays viola and bassoon. We like to visit museums of modern art, to cicle, play tennis and to make long walks.
We don't fly, so we won't go too far for a home exchange.
