House in Victoria, Canada
Our home is a lovely 1912 Craftsman-style house, located on Island Road in Oak Bay, Victoria's seaside village. The house has had its period details preserved through sympathetic renovations, and is located on a large treed lot, on one of Victoria's last country-lane streets, where cars are few, and friendly strollers a pleasant constant.
Our home is very comfortable and cosy and will make you feel at home right away. The kitchen has granite counters, stainless steel appliances, and an eating area. There is a separate dining-room with stained glass windows, built-in wood buffet and is sunny and bright during the day. There are two full bathrooms, recently renovated, and two bedrooms. The living room is full of light during the day and as the sun hits the stained glass windows little rainbow prisms appear in the room! There is a gas fireplace to add warmth and atmosphere in the evening. We have a lovely garden in the backyard complete with a gas BBQ and cafe-style seating so you can enjoy a cocktail as you prepare your BBQ!
The location is convenient to everywhere you want to be, but private, quiet, and completely enchanting when you prefer time to yourself.

Our Neighbourhood
Oak Bay is a quiet, affluent Victoria seaside neighbourhood, with its own charming village with restaurants, fine food stores, art galleries, book shops, antique stores, and other quality merchants. Our house is a three-minute drive, or 15-minute walk from Oak Bay Village. For information on Oak Bay, check out this websites: http://www.oakbaybc.org But if it's downtown Victoria you want, we're about 5 km/3 miles away, easily accessible by car, public transit, and for the adventurous, by foot, too -- through some very lovely and quaint old Victoria neighbourhoods. For more information on Victoria, visit http://www.tourismvictoria.com. Gardens, beaches, and parks abound in Oak Bay. In fact, we're the palm tree capital of Canada because of our unique climate, which adds to our coastal beauty. For a guide to parks and recreational opportunities in Oak Bay and throughout the Capital Region, visit http://www.crd.bc.ca. There are several parks within a few minutes' walk of our house, starting right next door where, city fathers decided 100 years ago to plant an oak tree grove rather than complete a street from a block over. One of our favourite 'inland' places in Oak Bay is what we call "Secret Park" a magical little blink-and-you'll-miss-it park minutes from our doorstep. Our summers are very warm, but with cooling night breezes. Winters are very moderate, and while snow is very rare, when we get more than a dusting, the neighbourhood is transformed.
