A modern terraced house built in 2005 in a nice village-like neighbourhood of Bonn, a 15 minutes' bike ride from the centre and a twelve minutes'  walk to the nearest Bonn Underground/City Train station. Practically across the street, there is "our" public outdoor swimming-pool (see photo in the "Neighbourhood " section  - family day ticket around 7,50 euros).
Ground floor: open plan with living-room, kitchen and eating area. TV set, DVD player, lots of books (and DVD's), also lots in English and Spanish.  Natural Canadian maple floorboards. Exit to terrace and garden with trampoline, barbecue area and second lounge terrace with two armchairs and sofa. Front yard with table and two chairs for evening sun.
First floor: Two single bedrooms with view of garden; bathroom with bathtub and shower; study with access to internet. WiFi access for your own laptop available in house and garden.
Top floor: Very large, high-ceilinged master bedroom incl. second living room, TV set and DVD player; large windows to front and back; spare loft bed. Natural beech floorboards.
Basement: larder, laundry room, and our son's large bedroom, which  can sleep a couple.
Car exchange possible. We have a Hyundai i30, which we do not use often. We prefer riding our bikes within Bonn.

Bonn and the Rhineland

According to Lonely Planet’s Guide to Germany, West Germany’s former capital “has reinvented itself with creativity and vigor. […] For visitors, the birthplace of Ludwig van Beethoven has plenty in store, not least the great composer’s birth house, a string of top-rated museums, a lovely riverside setting and the nostalgic flair of the old government quarter. […]  Bonn, which can conveniently be discovered by bike, lies in the heart of the Rhineland, one of Europe’s most famous landscapes. South of the city, the river flows between green hills crowned by medieval castles. The Siebengebirge nature reserve with its Drachenburg (Dragon’s Castle) and its excellent scenic walks is just a few miles up the river. The Eifel National Park and the River Moselle, where Germany’s best white wine is produced, are nearby. Tour boats take you from Bonn’s city centre to picturesque old towns and villages, such as Linz with its historical centre, its half-timbered houses and its fine restaurants. Cologne (30 km down the river) with its world-famous cathedral and Düsseldorf (90km), North-Rhine Westphalia’s state capital, deserve more than just one visit. South of Koblenz (60 km up the Rhine), where the Moselle flows into the Rhine, the Middle Rhine Valley has been declared UNESCO World Heritage.  Apart from all that, Bonn is a green city with a long and fascinating history, a progressive outlook, a rich cultural life and, last but not least, with inhabitants that are famous for their openness and their relaxed and easy-going lifestyle.
