We are looking for an opportunity to stay for a month or so beginning in the beginning of 2025 somewhere in the south of Europe. If possible we would like to bring our very well behaving dog Bowie, a Vizsla, with us. |
Nice and quiet apartment overlooking canal in centre of Amsterdam
Apartment opposite Hermitage Museum, in the former Jewish quarter, around the corner of Waterloopleinmarket, National Opera and Ballet Theatre, Zoo and Botanic Garden. Metro and trams 2 minutes walk, supermarket, bars, zoo, cinema's, restaurants - all within a 10 minutes walk.
The house is a monument; we renovated it 15 years ago. It is about 80 sqm, big living-room with a great view, 2 bedrooms (2 beds in total of 1.40 x 2 m ), beautiful compact kitchen and small bathroom ( shower ). No car, since living so central, we do not need it, and bicycles or public transport are much easier.

About Our Family
Our sons are grown up so most of the time we travel just the two of us. Since 2021 we have a very nice dog, Bowie, a shorthaired vizsla. He won't be travelling with us either (unless it is no problem for you). He will stay with our oldest son when we are away.
Lifestyle
We have traveled a lot but there is still a lot of world to explore. On summerholidays, or long weekend citytrips, enjoying art & culture, good food. We love to just walk around and be part of a new surrounding.

GR054This Amsterdam exchange was full of interesting and charming moments. The location itself was the high light of this home, and not only that, the hosts were so friendly, well travelled and cultured. Their welcome was warm and generous. In mornings and evenings having the chance watching the tourist-boats jam in the canal was amazing , as well as the oportunity to choose among the closest sights as are Hermitage museum, just across, or the Hortus botanicus or the Opera and ballet building..or just a little bit farther the Rembrant house.....Thank you Karen and Eric

FR1002663Karen's apartment in central Amsterdam is absolutely wonderful, exquisitely decorated, very confortable, sunny, and there are 2 pianos! It was a great pleasure to rediscover the city from our temporary home! My daughter and I were so lucky to be able to exchange with Karen, herself and her partner were so generous, helpful and pleasant to get to know. They were also very careful with my apartment, and left everything spotless.
I wish I could go back to Amsterdam tomorrow!
